On Monday this week, the Belarusian public broadcaster BTRC announced that Anastasiya Vinnikova would represent her home country in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Born In Byelorussia. The song quoted memories from Soviet Union times as well as the historical name of Byelorussia, which is not officially used anymore these days.
Now the lyrics have been officially changed to I Am Belarusian, and the main theme of the song was shifted to a more contemporary way of describing Belarus. The new lyrics were written by Evgeny Oleynik and Svetlana Geraskova. Check out the final lyrics of the Belarusian entry on the official artist profile!
