Belarus: EuroFest is back as the national selection!
18 October 2011 at 13:00 CESTFrom 2007 to 2009, the Belarusian entries for the Eurovision Song Contest have been selected in the national project EuroFest, where young artists had an opportunity to showcase their musician skills. After a two years break, the national project EuroFest is back as the Belarusian national selection.Â
Procedure
Singers and songwriters are welcome to send in their applications to take part in the EuroFest until the 25th of November. After that, a jury will choose 15 entries to be presented in a national Semi-Final, which is supposed to be held in December and will be broadcast live. During that show, five entries will be selected by a combination of televoting and an expert jury. These lucky five will go forward to the Final, which is set to take place in January 2012. In the Final, the winner will be chosen by televoting (50%) and a professional jury (50%). Special EuroFest diaries will be shown on TV during the whole project.
EuroFest created a big success in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with the Belarusian representative Koldun coming 6th with his song Work Your Magic. In the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, Belarus was represented by Anastasiya Vinnikova who came 14th in the Second Semi-Final with her song I Love Belarus. Thus, she did not qualify for the Final.
