Be A Winner: Send in your karaoke video!

Until the 2nd of May, fans can send in their home-made karaoke videos of the songs of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. Through an online voting on the popular video community website YouTube.com, viewers will decide who wins a Flip camera device and an exclusive online chat with the winner of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. The voting takes place between 2nd and 18th of May.

The funniest and best videos will also be shown in the three Eurovision Countdown shows. Three episodes of Eurovision Countdown will be distributed to all 43 participating public broadcasters, who have the option to broadcast the programmes. The three episodes of Eurovision Countdown will also be made available through Eurovision.tv.

Nicoletta Iacobacci, Head of Interactive TV at the European Broadcasting Union, says: "With Be A Winner, we give fans an enormous opportunity to be part of the Eurovision Song Contest and to reach a world wide audience with their video, through the internet ánd on television." 

Last year, the first edition of Be A Winner took place, reaching some 3 million people through television and the internet. A Lithuanian fan singing the Turkish entry won the competition back then.
