The Azerbaijani broadcaster Ictimai TV started the preparations for their national selection for Europe's favourite TV-show just some weeks ago when forty candidates were qualified for the first round.
According to Azerbaijan’s music coordinator on Eurovision Song Contest, Zahra Badalbeyli only local singers attended for that, reports APA.
“Some foreign composers offered their pieces, but we didn’t receive their proposals yet, because it is too early to do it. We offered them to wait”. Badalbeyli said the song would be chosen after the selection of the participant. In the first round videoclips of the participants were made.
“The video clips and records will be sent to the local and foreign experts. We will send it to the experts of Sweden, Ukraine and other countries and will take into consideration their opinion in the selection of best candidate,” Badalbeyli told.
In the next round it'll be determined whether a solo-artist, a duo or a groups will be sent to Oslo next year. A total of five to ten applicants will be chosen in this round.
The singer and the song would not be chosen before November, according to the musical coordinator. They would start their preparations after the selection.
Azerbaijan finished third in Moscow at the 54th Eurovision Song Contest with Aysel and Arash' Always.
