In May, Sabina Babayeva achieved a very respectable 4th place on home turf in Baku with the song When The Music Dies. Now, broadcaster Ictimai have started looking for their entry for Malmö.
On Thursday and Friday last week, pre-auditions commenced where a special jury had the task of reducing a total of 128 applicants down to 100. The lucky qualifiers will participate in a series of live shows starting in a few weeks time.
We believe that the format of the national selection will be very similar to last year with each qualification round lasting a week, testing the artists' skills to the maximum and ensuring that only the best participants qualify to the final rounds.
The eventual winner of the Azerbaijani national selection will participate in one of the Semi-Finals of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, being held on the 14th, 16th and 18th of May at the Malmö Arena in Malmö, Sweden.
