Azerbaijan's Eldar releases new music video

13 September 2012 at 12:50 CEST

In 2011 Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (aka Ell/Nikki) took Europe by storm when they won Europe's favourite TV show in Düsseldorf with Running Scared.

Since then Eldar's career has gone from strength to strength and in Baku earlier this year, he had the great honour of co-presenting the contest with Leyla Aliyeva and Nargiz Birk-Petersen.

Now, the young and enthusiastic artist has gone back to his roots and recorded a new single entitled I'm Free. Today in Baku, his first solo music video for I'm Free was launched and can be seen below.

An Emotional Story

I’m Free is an emotional story of a person who happened to find himself free from previous commitments, perceptions, and judgments about love, creativity, and lifestyle.

Even though memories are still strong and touching, this hero looks ahead to the future. He sees a road ahead full of unexpected discoveries and opportunities. There are new horizons, new victories, and a new life.

"I want to move from the image of being a "one hit wonder" as often happens to the winners of various music competitions. Moreover, since the hit Running Scared was performed as a duet, it is only half mine. There are so many things I want to tell my audience as a solo artist", says Eldar about his new release.

The music video for I’m Free was shot in Kyiv, Ukraine, at the end of June 2012. The project was fully implemented by the Euromedia Group production team. The creative ideas were developed and directed by Denis Gamzinov and Dmitry Peretrutov (who was also responsible for the music videos for Ani Lorak and Ruslana). Overall nearly 200 people worked on the project: on the development, implementation, two-day video shooting, and the post-production.

Euromedia Group team helped to tell the story of I’m Free: the dynamic change between day and night, club interiors, and open spaces of the fields reflect a dramatic transformation in a hero’s feelings, who is going through the major changes in his life.

For the first time in his career, Eldar emerged as a dancer. Days of hard work and training were very useful: Eldar performs a jazz-funk choreography routine together with Va-bank backup dancers.

I'm Free was written by Eldar together with producers from AzerLife Music Entertainment, and in particular with DJ Aligee and sound producer Rasif Babayev. The single was produced in collaboration with sound producer Farid Mamedov.
