The semi-final is set to take place on the 2nd of February, press service of Ictimai TV (iTV) told the news agency APA. According to them, several steps have already been taken by the channel. They've held qualifying rounds where 30 videos of young performers were assessed by local and foreign specialists. Six of them made it to the semi-final.

The chosen participants for the semi-final have already been announced and are Azad Shabanov, Milk $ Kisses, Maryam Shabanova, Safura Alizadeh, Elli and Ulviya Rahimovas.

“The date of the final has not been fixed yet. It is not yet known how many persons will reach the final,” the Azerbaijani Head of Delegation, Adil Karimli, said.

As a surprise for the local and international fans, the winner of the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, Ruslana, and this year's ruling king of Europe's favourite TV-show, Alexander Rybak, will support the young participants. Another guest in the semi-final will be their 2009 participant, Aysel.

Azerbaijan achieved the third place in 2009 in Moscow when Aysel and Arash took the song Always to the stage.
