The Cover Songs

First each act performed one of their favourite cover versions:

  • The Makemakes: „I Shot The Sheriff“ by Bob Marley
  • Celina Ann: „Empire State of Mind“ by Alicia Keys
  • DAWA: „Bitter Sweet Symphony“ by The Verve
  • Folkshilfe: Medley of „Just the Way You Are/ „Let’s Get Loud“/ „Hangover“/ „Danza Kuduro“/ „Monsta“/ “Sexy and I Know It”/ “Firework”
  • Johann Sebastian Bass: „Stronger“ by Kanye West
  • Zoe: „Something“ by The Beatles

The Surprise Songs

Then they were asked to leave their "comfort zone" and present a song that would surprise their audience - and each of them found a way to do it, be it by performing in an unusual style, by getting a "support artist" on stage, by re-discovering their Austrian roots, or by switching to a different musical era altogether.

The audience voted for their favourites, although nobody was eliminated. The Makemakes, Celina Ann and Folkshilfe got the highest number of points.

What's Next?

Next week, on March 6th, the Austrian TV public will finally get to know the candidate songs to represent Austria in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. Each act has the opportunity to collaborate with international songwriters and producers to come up with two songs. In the end of this third show, the coaches - Anna F., Nazar, and The Boss Hoss - will decide which song shall be presented in the final by each respective act.

In the final, which will be broadcast live on Friday March 13th, Austria will decide which of the six acts will defend Conchita Wurst's title in the Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
