Austria to pick in October?

27 July 2010 at 16:49 CEST

It was Eric Papilaya who carried the Austrian torch the last time with his song Get A Life - Get Alive in Helsinki, in 2007. Unfortunately, he failed to qualify for the Final back then.

Now, the Austrian broadcaster ORF has released a press statement on their homepage, announcing their possible plans for the 56th Eurovision Song Contest in Germany.

According to them it's not yet decided how their representative would be chosen but one of the possibilities would be to use the casting show Helden Von Morgen, which starts already in October.

Austria has won Europe's favourite TV-show once, in 1966 with Udo Jürgens' Merci Chérie.
