Australian televoters choose their winner

The whole country was swept with Eurovision Song Contest fever this weekend with both Semi-Finals and the Final being shown with a delay on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening.

Over 200,000 televotes were cast in the Final poll, and there were some noticeable differences in the patterns of voting between Europe's televoters and juries, and the Australian public. The end result was very close, with Turkey winning the poll just ahead of Greece, with a big gap then to actual winner Germany in third place. The full televoting results are as follows

The biggest differences in opinion between the Australian and European public were the songs from Serbia, Iceland, Bosnia & Herzegovinaand Ireland faring much better in the Australian poll, whereas Denmark and Azerbaijan which both finished in the top five in Oslo, were both in the bottom eight in the Australian poll.
