Andrea Demirović to represent Montenegro

Just like last year, the Montenegrin representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was appointed internally by an expert jury. According to an announcement on the RTCG website, the seven-member jury panel unanimously voted in favour of Andrea Demirović to represent the small nation in Moscow. She will sing Just Get Out Of My Life in Moscow, an English-language pop song.

Andrea Demirović was born on June 17th, 1985, and she released her first full album Andrea in 2006. She is no stranger to national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest: In 2005, she took part in the national final of Serbia-Montenegro, reaching the fifth place with her song Šta Će Mi Dani. In 2008, she participated in the artist selection procedure in Montenegro, where she ranked second behind Stefan Filipović.

Montenegro has been represented twice in the Eurovision Song Contest so far. In 2007, Stevan Faddy came 22nd in the Semi-Final with his song Ajde Kroči. Last year, the Montenegrin representative again failed to qualify for the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest: Stefan Filipović reached the 14th place with Zauvijek Volim Te.
