Andorra: World-famous hitmaster on her way

30 March 2009 at 17:50 CEST

Since entering the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004, Andorra’s best result has been a 12th place in the Semi-Final of 2007 with Anonymous’ Salvem El Món. After some doubt this year, a new format for the national selection was presented, with a final consisting of three songs. The participating songs were selected by an expert jury, who also chose the artists.

Georgi, who's in fact of Danish origin, was one of the lucky three finalists, out of over 100 artists and songs. In the final she was against two other songs, whihc had been presented to the public in three shows televised by Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra in January. Finally she got the vote of the jury and a landslide victory in televoting with her La Teva Decisió (Get A Life). See her winning song below!

Susanne Georgi was born in Denmark but has lived in Andorra for the last thirteen years. She is part of the pop-duo ME & MY who achieved an international breakthrough with their song Dub I Dub. It turned out to be one of the 90's inescapable hits and marked the start of a pop-music adventure for Susanne and her sister Pernille Georgi.

"I love life and I love to travel, to be with my family, my friends and my three dogs as much as possible. I live in the mountains of Andorra but was born in Denmark. I think I have got everything I need. Work a little too much at the moment but love everything I put my mind and soul into," she writes on her MySpace page.

She will now take the stage on the 12th of May in Moscow, in the first Semi-Final of Europe's favourite TV-show, performing seventh. You can read more about her here
