03 January 2012 at 15:51 CET

Some sad news has reached us today from Denmark.

Anders Frandsen who represented Denmark at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest in Rome with the song Lige der hvor hjertet slår has sadly passed away at the age of just 51.

Since his appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest, he went on to become a TV presenter and a designer. He also made a guest appearance at the 2001 edition of the Danish National Selection, Melodi Grand Prix where he joined other participants in the interval act.

The cause of his death has not been revealed but what we do know is that he lived in Hellerup, a suburb of Copenhagen and was unmarried with no children.

Our sincere condolences go to Anders' family and friends at this sad time.
