Aminata to represent Latvia in Vienna

All four finalists in tonight's competition were commented upon by an expert panel, comprising vocal consultant Ieva Kerēvica, Kaspars Roga (member of the group Brainstorm), singer Dons and music business professional Guntars Račs. 

Tonight however it was down to the public to determine the winner by televoting and the song which obtained the most votes was the one to win the ticket to Vienna, and represent Latvia in the Second Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held on Thursday the 21st May.

The Four Finalists

  • Aminata - Love Injected (1st Place)
  • MNTHA - Nefelibata (4th Place)
  • ElektroFolk - Sundance (3rd Place)
  • Markus Riva - Take Me Down (2nd Place)

During the show, there were performances from Brainstorm, who were Latvia's representatives in 2000, when the country made their debut in Europe's Favourite Tv Show, and finished in an impressive third place with the song My Star. Also performing was Dons, who has been a member of the jury this year and narrowly missed out on representiing Latvia in the 2014 contest, and Bet Bet featuring jury member Guntars Račs .

The Supernova final was presented by Ketija Šēnberga and Toms Grēviņš.

Aminata Savadogo was born in 1993 and started singing at the age of 13. She has participated in several television and music projects, She competed in the Latvian selection show Dziesma 2014 with the song I Can Breathe and finished fifth in the final. She also won the Latvian show Jaunā Talantu Fabrika (New Talent Factory).
