'American Song Contest' on screens in 2022
14 May 2021 at 19:00 CESTThe show will feature live performances, representing all 50 states, 5 United States territories and the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C, competing to win the country’s vote for the ‘Best Original Song’.
An incredible solo artist, duo, DJ or a band will represent each location performing an original song, celebrating the different styles and genres across America.
The live Contest consists of three rounds as the acts compete in a series of Qualifying Rounds, followed by Semi-Finals and the ultimate Grand Final where one state or territory will emerge victorious.
Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, is excited about the new show:

Anders Lenhoff, Peter Settman, Christer Björkman and Ola Melzig, producers with the experience of over 20 Eurovision Song Contests between them, acquired the American format rights for Eurovision Song Contest from the EBU and partnered with Propagate to bring Eurovision to the states.

American Song Contest is looking for the best original song showcasing an artist’s style and individuality. The submissions process to represent each state or territory is already underway and welcomes all varieties of music including country, dance, electronic, pop, rap, R&B, rock and more.
