A trio of feminine talent to present Danish final

01 November 2012 at 14:45 CET

For the first time in many years, Danmarks Radio (DR) are breaking with tradition and have employed what they describe as "three strong women" to present the 2013 edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, which will be held on the 26th of January at the Jyske Bank Boxen arena in Herning.

The three women who will host the competition are presenters Louise Wolff, Lise Rønne and actress Sofie Lassen-Kahlke. The former two presented DMGP in 2011 and 2012 respectively whilst Sofie Lassen-Kahlke has appeared in a wealth of films and TV shows such as Kærlighed ved første hik and 2900 Happiness.

"The idea of having three female hosts cam about because we believe that Dansk Melodi Grand Prix needs a bit of girl power. In previous years we have had the traditional host pair, who have no doubt done well. However, 2013 is the year where we give the women the power", explains head of entertainment at DR, Jan Lagermand Lundme to the offical DMGP website.

Biggest Dansk Melodi Grand Prix ever

As previously announced, next year's Danish final will take place in the town of Herning, where the new Boxen arena will be used to host the biggest ever edition of DMGP. The arena has space for 15,000 people in the audience and with three strong characters up front, DR promises one of the best productions of the show in modern times.

Songs to be revealed on the 16th of January

In order to create maximum suspension, the songs and artists behind them will not be revealed until the 16th of January. However, rest assured, we will reveal the name as soon as we get them!

A total of 692 songs were sent into DR this year so there is a mamoth task ahead, listening to and choosing the 10 lucky songs that will compete for the right to represent Denmark in Malmö in May.
