From the 48 songs that have reached the second phase, 20 (which will be announced on the 3rd of October) will go forward to the semi-final on Friday the 21st of November, and in turn these will be reduced to 14 for the Final that will take place the following evening on Saturday 22nd of November.

Familiar names

A number of familiar names have made it through to the second phase of the competition, many of whom have represented Malta in previous editions of Europe's Favourite Tv Show, or participated in previous Maltese national finals, including Gianluca (2013), Glen Vella (2011), Ludwig Galea (2004), Olivia Lewis (2007) and Miriam Christine (1996).
At this stage in the selection process some artists have more than one chance to represent the country. As the current holders of the title, the group Firelight were not permitted to enter for the 2015 selection.
