32 songs compete in Romanian national selection

"Though we first announced a maximum of 28 songs in the semifinals, the quality of the music we had the chance to listen was very high, so it determined the jury to accept a larger number of songs. There will be 32 entries in the semifinals, and 12 of them (6 from every semifinal) will qualify in the final. All the 32 songs will be posted online, on www.tvr.ro/eurovision, starting February the 18th, for Eurovision fans”, said Dan Manoliu, manager of the Romanian selection.

Among the surprises of the auditions was Renée Santana, Carlos Santana’s niece, who came from Cuba to compete to represent Romania at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. She will have to compete against some very famous artists in Romania and abroad, such as Luminiţa Anghel, Elena Cârstea Muttard, Natalia Barbu; and also some promising young artists,  who proved their talent in different musical tv shows in Romania, like X Factor, Romania’s Got Talent and The Voice.

Both Semi-Finals of Romania's national selection will be broadcast on the website of broadcaster TVR. In addition the Grand Final will be broadcast right here on Eurovision.tv on the 9th of March, so don't miss it!,
Romania will participate in the second half of the second Semi-Final of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest on the 16th of May in Malmö, Sweden.
