Last week, it has been announced that Georgia would be represented in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest by Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani. The duo has been internally selected by GPB.

Today, the Georgian public broadcaster announced that the composer of the winning song of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, Euphoria, has been commissioned to compose the song that Nodi and Sophie will sing on stage in Malmö next May.

Thomas G:son (real name: Thomas Gustafsson) was born on 25 February 1968. He has written several hits and he has always shown a great affinity to the Eurovision Song Contest: He has entered his songs in the national selections of several countries for more than ten years now, and seven of them went on to the Eurovision stage, representing four different countries since 2001: Sweden (2001, 2006, and 2012), Norway (2007), Denmark (2010), and Spain (2007 and 2012).

Thus, his song for Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani will be Thomas G:son's eighth attempt at the Eurovision Song Contest, and Georgia will be the fifth country represented by one of his songs.

Earlier this week, GPB also announced that Nodi's and Sophie's stage costumes would be designed by Avtandil Tskvitinidze. The Georgian designer is well-known not only in his home country, but also in other European countries.
