Michela
Michela, will sing for Malta at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. She has only just turned 18 years of age and currently lives on the tiny island of Gozo, part of the Maltese archipelago and known as a hidden gem in the Mediterranean. Her voice is described by many as memorable and powerful, with a breathtaking breaking point. She loves a wide range of genres from pop and country to soul.As a then-unknown talent in Malta, she exploded on to the X-Factor stage, leaving the judges speechless. Michela won the final as if it was the only thing she was born to do. Previously, she had won the Music Talent League in Lithuania, was a finalist in the Baltic Voices competition and attended the Ultimate Artist development programme in Hertfordshire London, where she worked with Rihanna's producer.
Michela describes herself as an average teenager. She explains: "... but when I start singing, it’s as if my voice takes over my entire being. Aretha Franklin once said that you sing soul with your whole body. I know exactly what she means." Michela is currently signed to Sony Music.
