Michael Rice will represent the United Kingdom at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest after winning 'Eurovision: You Decide', the nation's national final. He lives in Hartlepool in the North East of England with his mum, stepdad, sister and brother. Growing up he worked at McDonalds, but always dreamt of being a singer.
Michael started performing at a young age when his grandma would take him busking. His career started when a video of him singing a Years & Years song went viral.
Michael is well known to the UK public as the winner of the first series of the BBC Entertainment show All Together Now which he won in 2018. During the series, he got all 100 judges – including Spice Girl Geri Halliwell - up on their feet. Michael put most of his £50,000 prize towards his mum's The Waffle and Crepe Shack in Hartlepool.
Michael is currently working on his debut EP with producers Pete Boxsta Martin and Dantae Johnson who have written and produced tracks for Jessie J, Missy Elliott and James Arthur.
