MARO

It wasn't until she turned 19 that MARO realised she wanted to pursue music full time.

Graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2017, the songstress made the tough decision to move to Los Angeles instead of going home to Portugal.

In her first year in LA, the artist released six self-written and self-produced albums. During this time, her Instagram caught the eye of Grammy winner, Jacob Collier, who invited her to join his debut touring band as a featured vocalist and instrumentalist.

MARO has supported Jessie J, Fatai, ¿Téo?, and is currently opening for Charlotte Cardin’s European tour.

In Turin, the artist will be joined on stage by five backing singers. For her participation, she's invited Beatriz Fonseca, Beatriz Pessoa and Carolina Leite (that performed with her in the Portuguese national final) and adds two new names to her crew; Diana Castro and Milhanas (who were the interpreters of two songs on Festival da Canção 2022 Grand Final).

Lyrics of Saudade, Saudade

I‘ve tried to write a million other songs but
Somehow I can‘t move on, oh you‘re gone
Takes time, alright, and I know it‘s no one‘s fault, but
Somehow I can‘t move on, oh you‘re gone

Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way
Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way

Tem tanto que trago comigo, foi sempre o meu porto de abrigo
E agora nada faz sentido, perdi o meu melhor amigo
E se não for demais, peço por sinais
Resta uma só palavra

Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way
Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way

I‘ve tried, alright, but it‘s killing me inside
Thought you‘d be by my side always
I‘ve tried to write a million other songs but
Somehow I can‘t move on, oh you‘re gone
Takes time, alright, and I know it‘s no one‘s fault, but
Somehow I can‘t move on, oh you‘re gone

Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way
Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way

There‘s so much I carry with me, He was always my safe place
And now nothing makes sense, I lost my best friend
And if it‘s not too much to ask, I ask for a sign
Only one word left to say

Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way
Saudade, saudade
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way
Nothing more that I can say says it in a better way

I‘ve tried, alright, but it‘s killing me inside
Thought you‘d be by my side always
