Elina Nechayeva was born in 1991 and graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2016 where she studied classical singing. As a child, she dreamed of becoming an astronaut, flying between the stars and planets. It is this same drive that inspired La Forza.
On the Eurovision stage Elina will fly between the stars to spread her message that love heals and lifts us. The melody of La Forza was written especially for her voice and shining personality.
Elina is a hardworking professional and aims to perform opera on the largest stages in the world. She takes very good care of her powerful instrument, her voice, and loves to begin her mornings with a yoga session and a jog. She tries to walk whenever and wherever she can and instead of coffee, uses dark chocolate as her secret energiser. Perhaps the most important part of her health regiment is that she always stays happy and positive!
When she has a moment to relax Elina likes to indulge her passion for animation. She is a big fan of all the classic Disney Princess cartoons and has a love for Japanese Anime – especially those by Hayao Miyazaki.
A huge classical music fan, she counts Mozart and Tchaikovsky among her favourite composers. She enjoys the clear structure of Mozart’s music and the passion and rich soul of Tchaikovsky. This shows also the two sides of her vivid personality – playful, yet formidable.
Elina’s family is of Estonian, Russian and Chuvash descent. It is from this diversity that she developed her talent for languages fluently speaking Estonian, Russian, English, French and Italian.
Less than three months after the 100th anniversary of Estonian Independence, Elina is hoping to give her beloved homeland another reason to be proud and celebrate.
