EBU Statement: Update regarding participants and COVID-19 status (Tuesday 18 May)

We’re pleased to confirm that the PCR tests for the whole Romanian and Maltese delegations have returned negative results.
Both delegations were tested as a precautionary measure after one member of both the Polish and Icelandic delegations respectively, staying in the same hotel, tested positive.
Malta and Romania will both appear as scheduled in Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision Song Contest tonight.
The two members of the Icelandic and Polish delegations who tested positive for COVID 19 remain in isolation. The rest of their delegations have all returned negative PCR tests.
As a further precautionary measure, the Polish delegation will be tested again prior to the Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, and again on Thursday before the Second Semi Final.
The Icelandic artists, and necessary support, will also be tested again on Wednesday and Thursday, as they have not been in close contact with the infected person. The remainder of the Icelandic delegation will remain in quarantine. We look forward to welcoming them all back to the Rotterdam Ahoy later this week.
