Eesti Laul makes a welcome return 🇪🇪

Estonia’s Eesti Laul returned to screens this weekend, and is set to be with us for the next three Saturday evenings (November 27, December 4 and 11).

The trio of 2021 shows are quarter finals being used to selected participants to perform in the semi finals and grand final in February 2022.

The first quarter final saw 10 songs performed (half in English and half in Estonian) with three progressing to the semi finals thanks to a televote, and a further two selected by a professional jury.

The jury featured: Sissia, Synne Valtri and Egert Milder (all previous Eesti Laul participants); songwriter Maiken; and TV and radio experts Andres Puusepp, Bert Järvert, Olav Osolin and Vaido Panel.

Televote winners:

  • Boamadu – Mitte kauaks (Not For Long)
  • Stig Rästa – Interstellar
  • Evelin Samuel – Waterfall

Jury winners:

  • Jaagup Tuisk – Kui Vaid (If Only)
  • Maian – Meeletu (Crazy)

Did not qualify:

  • Traffic – Kaua Veel (For A Long Time)
  • Kéa – Everytime
  • Fiona and Me – Feel Like This
  • Peter Põder – Koos lõpuni (Together Until The End)
  • Little Mess – Hea Päev (Good Day)

📺 Watch: Elina Born & Stig Rästa – Goodbye to Yesterday

Stig Rästa successfully navigated the quarter final and is perhaps best know for his 7th place finish at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with duet partner Elina Born on the song Goodbye to Yesterday.

The fan favourite also wrote Estonia’s 2016 entry Play (performed by Jüri Pootsmann) and finished 2nd at Eesti Laul in 2018.

Could this year see further success for Stig?
